NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES DENTAL ASSOCIATIONS COLLABORATION PLATFORM

Neighbouring Countries Dental Associations Collaboration Platform (NCDACP) was founded in 2011 under the leadership of Turkish Dental Association. The common goal of the platform is to contribute to the occupational, political and economic approach between the neighbouring countries. It is intended to carry out the studies of field of dentistry of the national associations of the countries with geographic proximity in co-operation.

The project of Neighbouring Countries Dental Associations Collaboration Platform (NCDACP) submitted by our Association to neighbouring countries was welcomed and supported by all.

The platform members are Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Palestine, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Northern Cyprus, Lebanon, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Jordan, Yemen and Greece.

Besides, the scientific and economic relations with the neighbouring countries will contribute greatly to the regional peace and professional developments. The representatives of Dental Supplies Industry were invited to the meetings of the platform and it is intended for our industry to have a voice in the region.

The 1st Neighbouring Countries Dental Associations Collaboration Platform meeting was held in İstanbul, on May 27, 2011 within the context of the 18.International Dental Congress of Turkish Dental Association which was held on May 23-28, 2011.

In the first meeting, Prof. Dr. Tarek ABBAS, the President of Egyptian Dental Association, was elected as the President of the Platform and he has currently carried out his duty. And the secretariat works of the Platform are carried out by Turkish Dental Association since its foundation.  It was decided to create a working group consisting to decide the schedule of the meetings to be continued.

The 2nd Neighbouring Countries Dental Associations Collaboration Platform meeting was held in Ankara, on Friday, June 1st, 2012 within the context of the 19.International Dental Congress of Turkish Dental Association which was held on May 31- June 2, 2012.

The 3rd Neighbouring Countries Dental Associations Collaboration Platform meeting was held on August 29, 2013, Istanbul Congress Centre with the participation of 13 countries within the context of FDI 2013, 101st AWDC to take in Istanbul between the dates of 28 - 31 August 2013.

The traditionalized meetings which will provide a positive contribution to solving the problems of oral health care in our region are planned to be realized on a regular basis every year by Turkish Dental Association within the Internatıonal Congresses in the long run.
